A Fight for Acquiring Long Denied Human Rights for Basic Survival in Narmada River Valley in India

Tribals of western India are fighting since three decades their human, civil and cultural rights against being displaced from the narmada river valley a fact known to many of us.
Just before the state assemblies elections are picking up heat , in Indian federal states including in Madhya Pradesh , where all the people of narmada valley are unjustly displaced made a huge show of strength in there in form of a rally , in khandwa a city in river valley some 300 K.M. west of Bhopal the state capital of Madhya Pradesh , where lacks of peoples are misplaced, displaced ,dislodged and deprived of there rightful placing on November 5 2008. in this Adivasi or indigenous peoples tribal rally many reputed social organizations participated to support this poor and needy tribals of narmada valley. They all gathered under the blue flag of the narmada bachao Andolan (save narmada movement) initiated Medha Patkar and her associates , some ten thousands of them who are affected by the narmada river valley dams of Indira Sagar ,Omkareshwar , Man , Aparveda , Bargi ,etc.. also affected by the river canals and the railway lines of this regions . On the conclusion of the rally the leader of this day organizations Alok Agrawal said , that no more the affected tribals shall tolerate the lies and the suppression by the administration and they shall take their rights by all means. A senior advocate of the high court of Madhya Pradesh said that the meeting of this simple people shall bring about significant result days to come .
In this rally the national organizations represented and support the tribals where Bhopal Gas Tragedy affected womens industrial association Adivasi Sangathan ,Samajvadi Jan parishad , Loknad (Gujarat), Khedut Majadoorchetam Sangathan ,Adarsheela , Chhatisgargh Mukti Morcha, Adivasi Mukti Sangathan ,Manthan Adhyayan Kendra,Lok Samiti (U.P.) , Sandarbh Tarashi, Muskan, Baghel Khan Adivasi Morcha , Bargi dam displaced peoples , etc.. association participated some of who are well reputed the objective in their approach to social issues . the candidates who are contesting the state assembly elections are asked by the Adivasi folks to declare their agendas soon in this connections.

Sixth World Congress for the Pastoral care of the Nomadic Catholics was held in Freising, Germany in September from 1-4, 2008 under the leadership of Archbishop Aostino Marchetto, Secretary of the pontifica Council, Vatican. In this Congress over two hundred delegates including India had come from all over the word comprising of Cardinals, Bishops, papal Nuncio, Monsignors, Archbishops, Priests, lay persons, Gypsies, Gypys youth, scholars from Europe of both Indian and European origin, including Gypsy or Banjara Youth.
The Archbishop Agostino Marchetto, spoke very strongly and sympathetically for accommodating the European and other Gypsy Catholics, in the Catholics churches at various levels in Sunday gatherings, parish councils, seminaries and convents, and other areas of like including in the secular areas of various countries. There was a good, occasion to discuss but genuine for the Gypsies liked among the delegates who looked like to again monitoring and managing their places of importance and the positions.
The final document consists of 7 pages describing of 18 very relevant points. Such apartheid or the discriminatory attitudes are experienced and observed by the Gypsies all over the world, nomadic tribal Catholics in India too experience the same behaviors from the Indigenous nomadic Catholics is seen and experienced by the members of their communities, in an original Catholic Church of Jesus as Claimed who do not imbibe love for the poor Gypsies in Europe and nomadic Catholics in India such as Jesus. In such as case where there is no spirit of Jesus is seen, will there be any use of the final document issued very enthusiastically by the Catholic church in Freising, in collaboration with Catholic Bishops from Germany, in September 2008…?
