Jhabua Tribal Youth Abadon Liquor

The Bhils of Jhabua Distict of Madhya Pradesh at an average drink annually nearly home made, foriegn and Indian brand of spurious alcohols, nearly worth of 6o crores of Rs. In other words their total saving of hard earned money goes to waste away in liquor leave aside the problems like enourmous money spent for the cure in hospital after the fatal deseases caused by its uncontr4olled consumptions, infights, police cases, court cases and indebtness to the private and other money lenders. The weekly news magazine edited by Mathias Bhuriya has made good impact on the Bhil youth of Jhabua, dealing about the matter and it seriousness in Bhili the language of the Bhils, its pro and anti consequences which made the Bhil youth of Jhabua and they haved decided not to consume liquor and other similar things like gutaka pauches, narcotics , Bidis, etc. Not only this under the leadership of Kapil Meda and Shailendra Ninama a team of Bhil youth is formed who will move in the Bhil villages, animating them to abandon these injurious items forever. A move is gaining momentum slowly but consistently. Due to liquor consumptions, the other communities and politicians, etc have taken advantages of the situation economially and politically and have taken upper hand on the Bhil while also promoting this evil even more among them not encourage them to abandon rather proleferate. Hence health and economic sitution is deteriorating day by day. It is time that NGOs and expecially BSP party who is genuinely intered to alleviate the use of alcohol and other similar stimulenting items from the Trbal and Dalit India play an active and disinterested role among them. The editor Mathias Bhuriya has created commendable literature in Bhili in the form of poetry, songs, stories, comments which are available in the form of Cds, audio cassttes, printed books, etc. to suite the abandonment of alcohol by the Bhils. This will well in the line of saving the Tribal human rights and restore the lost cultural and social rights and dignity of the Bhils in the years to come.
